Sorry I've been all MIA lately. This week has been hectic. For one, Raya is this Sunday.

Plus, our exams are a week, or was it two weeks? after raya. and the week right before our exams, our so-called " Study Week" is now taken over by CBL which is some project thing that is supposedly taking over second mid sem examinations. so like once again, explanation anybody?

Basically, our so-called study week is now CBL week and Raya week is study week.

but whotever. I'm leaving for Singapore tomorrow. in the morning.
Oh and I forgot to mention, today, Friday, is a holiday. and it just got announced on Thursday. i find it somewhat uncalled for yet i'm not one to complain about random day offs.

I can't wait for raya in Singapore.

My mom's side celebrates in Perlis while Daddy's side celebrates in Singapore. so since we went to Perlis last year, its daddys turn this year.

Pros

1) the family is smaller and I can actually recognize all my cousins. (I have 100+ cousins on my mom's side)

2) Mak Ngah's strawberry kuih lapis is to die for

3) Singapore currency just went up.

4) I have this addiction towards Singapore's Border's Stationary. I'm a stationary junkie

5) I really wanna visit some shops in Singapore that we don't have in Malaysia.

6) I just love Singapore.

I can't wait to pack! I know i'm like WAAAAYYY over-excited. I have 3 baju kurungs made for this year. Doubt I'd take photos of those and if I do, they'd probably be like, real raya photos with my family and such. BTW, my family, we don't buy mathching outfits for Raya. I know some families too, but its just not our style.

Individuality?

All I know its that Bonda is wearing pink on the first day, and I'm wearing beige. I can't wait to pack. ergh. I bought this comfy plain grey V-neck tee to wear in the car on the long long ride to Singapore. Plus, it'll still be puasa on that day, so imagine, 4 hour + ride, in a 5 seater Camry, holding 5 people with no food.

Wish me luck.

Oh and for my raya clothes, I've got a beige lace kurung, A gold and dark blue silk batik kurung, and a white, silver and turqoise satin batik kurung. I also bought this peacock patterened tunic to wear on the way back, cause we're like visiting some people, then going straight home, and being in a kurung would be annoying and uncomfortable.

I'm definitely taking both my new shoes with me, the cobalt fringed ones, and the glitter pink ones from Zara. plus maybe my simple Black Quilted Chanel heels incase all else fails. Haven't decided on bags yet though. I hope my luggage bag fits it all.

I officially hate surfing the net. Everytime I come across something totally

I remind myself that I'm saving up for that totally worth it Blackberry Bold i've had my eye on. Honestly, I've had my eye on the Blacberry Curve but the Bold looks more,hmm, sophisticated, classy, and expensive.

Mind my materialistic mind. :P

Today, my mother and I checked out phones cause she's out looking for a phone too.

three cheers to our prehistoric phones that have seen better days,
back when dinosaurs roamed the earth.

Fortunately, my mom understands my phone dilemma and she's somewhat proud that I'm saving up for it instead of doing puppy eyes for daddy in which case, i'd end up with a big fat NO anyway. First off, I've been slacking and i really need to study up for my finals
Second, I'm going to Canada at the end of the year, and thats usually when I go shopping to the point of epilepsy.
Third, I'm saving up for a Blackberry Bold.

Well you see, my dad is an interesting person. haha. He buys me great clothes, great shoes, bags, but he has this thing against cell phones. They can cause brain cancer la dee ladee daa. So can Super Rings

Today's the last day of the holiday, yeap, i'm pretty much in mourning. Out of boredom, i took several photos of my room/ changes in my room. Yeah, i've actually attempted to CLEAN my room this holiday. It doesn't look SO bad anymore. I remember Armand walking into my room, and he was like WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED HERE. and trust me, my room was clean ( well my definition of clean) at the time. :P so, if you're reading this Armand, which i really doubt/hope you don't unless you love fashion and totally swung that way, LOOK AT MY ROOM NOW. you can somewhat see the floor and my bed now.

So when i finally turned on my "forever off" camera, i found a couple of old photos too. Some dating back to December 2008. haha. yeap. I decided, why experiment with my photography skillz when i clearly have none? but here you go, some old, most new.

The day started off pretty slow and pretty much boring. Around 12ish, we ( Abang and I) left for OU. Abang was performing for this indie youth fest and let me tell you, it was AWESOME. Lenka performed. so nyeh, you guys missed it and she was awesome. We basically watched bands and solo artistes perform. as in, Abang, me, and a couple of his friends. I love this band name Dichi Michi. go check out their Myspace. click there. And the music's not the only thing I love about these sorta fests, I love the fashion. But seriously, ladies, step it up a little. All the girls wore plaid. BORE. all the guys had better style to day. I made a new friend. Hamzah.

ZOMG. I FOUND THE EXACT ONE! go me.
I also got baby blue and gold earrings and a white and gold HUGE LOOK AT ME cocktail ring. :)

oh,a and i had English Lit tuition at the Goh's and I just got home. Spent the day with Abang, his friend whose name i have manage to forget, and Louis.

Vintage haul ;

I finally chose from the things my mother has laid out for me. The things that are "too old" for her, thus vintage for me. Although these things were purchased a good 20 years ago, they're still in mint condition and although some has faded in terms of color, it only adds effect to its vintage look.

I have found new love with Aigner.
all Aigner bags and shoes have an "A" on it, symbolizing my name :) and I can't believe how many Aigner bags my mom was actually planning to throw/ give away! thank god I saved them.

So from the "pile of junk" as my mother calls it, i picked out two Aigner bags.

of course i couldn't find its exact replica on the internet because the bags are sooo vintage and old.

It somewhat resembles a brown leather quilted shoulder bag. with a little gold A on the front. the usual Aigner A.

And this exact bag, except the bag I chose is black and instead of ostrich skin, its crocodile skin.
I previously owned this Balenciaga bag in Black, Red and Brown.
but my mother also passed on another bag.

Its a vintage Dark Blue Giant Weekender Balenciaga bag.
i know it looks black-ish in the picture but the actual bag is actually a really dark blue. and my mom told me why she simply decided to pass a Balenciaga bag to me.
pft. she bought a new one.
but whatever. she's happy, I'm happy. it works out.

next, my mom had like 20 belts on the bed. and you know what I did? i just took em all.
HAHAHA. i didnt even care. i obviously can't show em all to you. so i'll basically pinpoint which era of vintage belts it is.

All these belts range from like, thousand -dollared Ferragamo, Gucci, Aigner, Hermes belts to 7 pound Primark belts. surprisingly the nicer ones are the cheapers ones. Goes to show, you don't need money to be fashionable. but it helps ;)

Oh and my mom hammydowned this GORGEOUS SATIN YVES SAINT LAURENT clutch. NO IDEA WHY SHE DID. but i'm not complaining.

it's gorgeous and so very pink. :) everyone knows how I love shocking pink.

I also grabbed some old shoes. that my mom thinks make her look old.

I got some Ralph Lauren penny loafers, in yellow!
These are from Cole Haan but its the closest I got. imagine these shoes, a much brighter shade of yellow with little ribbons in the front. Its gorgeously cute. I'm wearing them tomorrow. to watch my brother perform.

I also inherited ankle boots. WHO KNEW ANKLE BOOTS WERE IN THEN?
They're Burberry Black Lace up Ankle Boots.
Much like this, cept less patent. probably because it's really old. its been somwhat un-shined and discoloured. but still, very chic.

Lastly, monochromatic Chanel flats. They're so effortlessly classic! No idea why mom wanted to throw those away.
EXACTLY like these, cept they're sling backs.

My mom also wanted to throw out this whole jewellery box of accessories, so once again, I took them all. :) Don't you hate it when you throw something away and realize it could've been for good use? I'm never making that mistake again, so yes, I'm taking it all.

I'm really happy with what I chose.
The parents are coming back in a week or so, expect a haul after their immediate presence. My mommy bought me something, plus, we're going shopping!

1. Goldish gladiator flatties :)

I have them in silver and i just realized that i wear gold much more often. and grh. i do have gold ones from Nine West but they're really sparkly and a tad bit too flashy for daily wear if you ask me.

OR i'd get a gold INSPIRED fringed flatties. CAUSE I LOVE FRINGES now i think they're the most adorable thing everrr. but of course with accents of gold cause the point is that i want nice flats to wear when i'm wearing gold stuff.

Now that i think of it, i have a WAAAAAYY higher chance of buying myself a fringed black/charcoal and gold gladiator sandals. cause i realized. they're so much cuter.

3. Overdyed denim blue skinny jeans. preferably some Topshop (:
I have like..light denim skinnies. and probably in every bright colour you can imagine. plus i have skinnies in white, acid wash, white+acid wash ishy. haha BUT I DONT HAVE LIKE A REALLY REALLY overdyed denim blue. i have royal blue. i'm sure you've seen some pictures of me at Alvin's birthday party sporting those bright royal blue skinny jeans that i wore with a plain white tee, my H&M sweater and some crazy pumps (:

4. A floral top.
Its not really THAT floral. but as you may know, i love those huge LOOK-AT-ME zips.and I'm crazy in love with that conspicuous red zip across the front. This top is by topshop and i might just purchase it if they have it in Malaysia. you know Malaysia *'rolls eyes* .

5. A floral dress. i'm really into florals right now.
I've seen this top a milion times but i cant seem to buy it. i dont think people will get the Doll-ness of it. you know what i mean? haha farah and i always wonder if people will "get" what we wear. nonetheless, its adorable.
I love this dress by topshop. I know its a little short and might too short to be a dress, but hey, i'm REALLY petite. so it might be a short dress and not a long top for me :P pair it up with some tights and ankle boots OR CHUNKIES :D which im so excited to buy and we're good to go.

6. i need more rings to curb my HUGE ring obsession.

As I lie my head against the headrest of the car, I exhale deeply. Finally, freedom. Although the two week holiday had just terminated meerly two days ago, the pressure of Monday blues just hit me like a speeding train. The two week holiday skipped through like pebbles dancing off the surface of the water when thrown at an acute angle. If there was one thing I was not ready for, it was school. Monday was not as bad as I presumed it would be, yet because of the paroxysm of my body alarm, I only managed to get some shut-eye at 4 in the morning, only to be woken up by unavoidable shurgs 2 hours later. I know I have not blogged in a long long while, but here I am ready to bestow fashionable knowledge upon you once again.

While I was out shopping with my mother, I came across this atrocious dress and thought that such colour combination would look much better on a shoe or at least a better structured dress.

Cream. Black. Pink. Cream. Black. Pink. Cream. Black. Pi-..I came across this picture upon my forage for unbelievable gorgeous heels. Though, much like japanese raw fish, sashimi and blue cheese, it was an aquired taste. However, i simply had this attatchment and was completely bessotted by this shoe because of its simplistic yet forever classy design.

Over the holidays, I have also rediscovered my love for gladiators. Let them be as flat as disks or heels of an almost suicidal length, I adore them. Over the holidays, I managed to reaquaint myself with the pair of gold and silver gladiators and I had purchased what seems like a century ago. Once i strapped them to my feet, they were irrefutably lazered and glued to my legs.
I guess its the ability of the shoe to adapt or modify ones foot to look gorgeous and miles long that I adore about gladiator sandals or heels. Pros, they look good on anyone in any colour. Cons, a really gorgeous pair could burn a hole through your wallet, and some might even set your pants on fire.
Studs and gladiator heels together equal up to a dream come true.
I love this red and pinkish sequined clutch. I just imagined those times where we're up for a dinner, and we're in a terrible rush. No time for exquisite dresses and no time for exorbitant and extortionate jewellery. A LBD ( little black dress), or even the more modern form, the Little White Dress would look jaw-droppingly phenomenal with a clutch like this.
I normally am not a fan of Juicy as I like to stay away from its somewhat cheap appearance and slightly Paris Hilton-ish, in-your-face styles, yet, there's something unique about this bag. Maybe its the size of the bag, as i pictured, beautiful girls on the go, just sweeping the contents of their desk into this bag with one quick motion of the arm or the fact that it would look absolutely stunning being slung over the shoulder with a white tanktop and skinny jeans. The denoument, I LOVE this bag.
One shouldered prairie dresses are to die for. The light teal or greenish belt has this almost minty feel to it. It looks fresh and airy and woud definitely feel good due to global warming that has managed to increase the atmostpheric temperture 3 degrees higher.
I love the black lace detail on this dress and it would look breathtaking if worn with some exuberant heels.

Have I ever mentioned that I love heels? Because if it isnt obvious now, then we've got some serious problem.s

HEY ALL. Well today, while we were having a double period of maths, i managed to finish my work early and Mei and i decided to take a look at the pictures for the 2009 Costume Institute Gala, or known as the MET. so trust Mei and I to completely LOVE some of the pieces and dresses that were worn. thinking " how on earth would anyone think that dress is beautiful?" and i was enraged by some people who decided to be different and wear something different. its the MET for god's sakes. put a gorgeous 10, 000 dollared dress on and walk. although, some people attempted to try something new. some pulled it off, while others flunked it. So here are a few of my favourite dresses, and my "what-in-the-world-were-you-thinking-when-you-chose-that-outfit" dresses. however, Mei and i agreed that some dresses were indeed beautiful and amazingly crafted and designed but the people who wore it could not pull it off.

Okay so i decided to paste my favourites, the dresses i wish i could set ablaze, the dresses that could've been if worn by the right person.

First of all, the dresses I simply adored:

Why it works?
First of all, I think that this dress is VERY hard to pull off and it takes someone like Anne Hathaway to pull it off. This dress was designed by Marc Jacobs. for one, this dress is a very dark shade of purple therefore, it is no surprise that someone with porcelain skin, such as Anne Hathaway could possibly pull this dress off. the cutting is lantern shaped and it takes great height to pull off. i'm basically saying that there is no way that i would ever be able to pull off this dress, as well as any tanned, vertically challenged blonde. Yes, i doubt that a blonde could pull off this dress either as it takes dark hair to really blend this whole outfit together. I absolutely love how she decided to do her hair really simple and with a huge volume. a bun or an updo would completely destroy the rock and roll edge to this dress.

p.s: I am loving those shoes. :)

Why it works?
Jessica Alba is wearing this minidress by Jason Wu. i LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress. people who have seen my drawing would understand why. haha. most of the dresses i draw pretty much revolve around mini dresses with empire or waist cutting or colourblocks. plus, i love pockets. i don't care if they're in or not. pockets are handy. I love the glitter and shine on the bodice of the dress and i love how there is a colourblock and the skirt half of the dress is in this bright almost royal blue colour. the two colours just blend together so easily. i also love how Jessica Alba used black tights. ( people also know that i wear black tights with most of my dresses). i absolutely love the fact that she wore black tights and black heels to increase your height. or at least make yourself look taller. i don't understand why she is using a fuschia coloured clutch though. but i guess the whole outfit is so glamourous, people won't even notice the clutch.

note: when wearing a very self-spoken dress, it is best to make your hair NOT the subject of the outfit. i love how she ties it up so nicely here. :)

my explanation should just end here. hahaha. i'm actually serious. first of all, this dress is completely sequinned by hand. it starts off with a dark blue almost black sequins at the top and it blends into a very light and bright blue that looks almost silver in colour. plus, i love the peep toe ankle boots that match her dress. I think she was one of the best dressed. hands down.

Why it works?
This dress is also done by Versace and i love the black chiffon look that looks like a cut-out styled dress but it actually has a skin coloured lining inside of it. i think this dress is absolutely gorgeous and i love the fanned out look of this dress. especially all those chiffon folds that must've taken forever to do. but i think this dress is amazing. enough said.

The last two are my favourite outfits out of the whole MET and its really no surprise.

KATE MOSS, AND ONLY KATE MOSS COULD POSSIBLY PULL THIS DRESS OFF. first of all, the drapings make it look slightly Superhero themed and shoes that match the dress exactly isnt usually the greatest idea. the turban she has on gives this Indian vibe. yet altogether it looks phenomenal. i love her beige satin pumps, they look absolutely gorgeous. this dress is done by Marc Jacobs, obviously as he is standing right next to the model in the picture. he has really outdone himself this time. i love the whole outfit. oh and not to forget, not only do i LOVE LOVE LOVE one shouldered dresses and tops, i also love low backs or back cut-outs.
I think the back of the dress really finishes it off perfectly. 10/10 for Marc Jacobs.

And last but not least, well actually last, but the most gorgeous dress at the entire ball, i do agree that this has been slightly biased. but i am a huge sucker for Chanel.
Diane Kruger wears this dress from Chanel and i think she pulls it off perfectly. she is petite, therefore making this babydoll dress look beautiful. If you look at the picture closely, you can actuallysee that this dress consists of tiny white fabric flowers sewn over the entire dress with a skin coloured fabric underneath that can be seen below the flowers. I love her minimalist accesories making the dress a standout. I also love the white fabric empire waist belt that compliments the dress perfectly.

Mei and i both think that this dress by Atelier Versace is beyond amazing . but it should've been worn by a porcelain skinned 6 footer. Nicole Kidman would've looked gorgeous in this dress. sorry Jessica Biel. We think that Jessica would've looked nice in a short cream or yellow coloured minidress. this dress just doesnt fit her very well.

i love this dress worn by Elizabeth Hurley. This dress is designed by Elie Saab and i usually LOVE HER DRESSES. and i love this one too. i love the rosette detail at the bottom of the dress as well as the feathers on the bodice. however, i think this dress completely swallows the person in it. she would've done better in a light pink tight fitting dress.

Today, we were all permitted to wear jeans and sport shoes along with our Save the World tee shirt. i would just like to say how something like wearing jeans and sports shoes, can differentiate people's fashion style.

For instance, i think most people tried too hard by putting on their best jeans. Some of the younger secondary students wore jeans with tons of beading and crystals and i just rolled my eyes at these kind of things. i mean, we're going to school, not the mall. although most people just wore regular blue jeans, some people knew how to make it work, some didn't.

i spotted mom jeans. ew.

I saw some people wearing bright blue, green and red jeans. as some of you may know, i LOVE coloured jeans. but please, we're still in school. some people just try way too hard to impress and i find it rather annoying. I think the overall nicest outfit was won by Bella. She wore the Save the World tee shirt with regular blue, straight cut jeans, with green converses. I LOVED and admired her outfit. however, i opted for typical black skinny jeans and black, white and red converses. but after schoo, i changed into my bright pink and black flats for accounts tuition. how chic. i really could've gone to sevendays today, but i decided against it cause according to the others, they weren't properly dressed.

So the Save the World campaign has inspired me to do little things in life to improve our world. as most of you may know, i hardly or almost NEVER use air conditioner. i do switch my lights off when not in use, and i do brush my teeth while i'm bathing. but oh boy, do i waste water when i bathe. i'm the kind of person who bathes for ages and keeps the water running as i'm soaping up or washing my hair. i don't like being in the shower without the water running. it feels. naked. hahahaha. The one thing i was thinking off throughout the whole campaign, was ( i bet you've guessed it. i'm so fashion crazy), Anya Hindmarch's line of canvas bags used to completely replace the usage of plastic bags in everyday life. Admittedly, i own almost all of her "I Am Not A Plastic Bag" Canvas bag line.

And i understand that although Anya's original I'm not a plastic bag bag only cost 50 american dollars, in other words, it's about 350 ringgit, her other bags are somewhat more costly. but this is not an excuse as to why you would not replace your plastic bags with canvas totes as there are many other choices or alternatives that are much cheaper than Anya's canvas totes.

A simple bag like this would be enough. and plus, its cute. :)

so since we're in such a Save The World the world is beautiful phase, i accidentally bumped across these few gorgeous dresses i absolutely loved and they were floral printed. Personally, i love floral prints and they remind me of the singer Katy Perry. i also love waist belts, glitter and bubble shaped dresses.

I think this dress screams Katy Perry. i can imagine it on her with a huge blue bow on her head.

i can imagine this on me, rather i would LOVE to have it on me. :)
the shiny belt is just amazing and it pieces the two fabrics so beautifully.

and lastly, this is a little random and doesn't go well with my Save the World themed blogpost, but i found the most heavenly shoes on the face of the Earth. my mom is going to America soon and she's purchasing these shoes for me. they arent sold in malaysia. so hopefully i'll be one of the only malaysians to own them.

The reason for the blog title refers to my favourite choice of bag, the clutch. Yes, most people would presume that the "oversized bag" would have been my favourite choice, as most of you may know, i do have a vast collection of oversized bags. However, due to my rather petite frame, i think that the clutch suits me much better.

Truth:
A cluch does well by complimenting an outfit without taking the attention away from the dress itself.

Myth:
A clutch can only be worn for dinners or formal occasions.

Yes, i do agree, you cannot fit much stuff into a clutch, unless you own those GORGEOUS collection of oversized clutches by Celine. coughiownsomecough. :) but then again, as a teenager, how much stuff would you possibly need? a wallet and a phone would do you justice. So here's to my favourite choice of bag, the clutch. However, the clutches that i am about to display do not compliment the outfit, however, they steal the limelight and ARE the outfit.

Note: Some of these clutches may have chains that enable them to be worn as handbags or slings, however they can be stowed away and used as clutches.

So as I was looking around at this fashion website, i spot this turquoise bag and i find it the most gorgeous thing on earth.

Personally, i love this bag as i think it adds a dash of colour to a dualtone outfit. Mainly, black and white. I think it would look gorgeous with a white flowy top, some black skinny jeans, some skyscraper heels and gold jewellery. I love the gold details on this bag and i simply adore the fact that it can add a dash of colour without being too bright. This bag is by Coach.

This Alexander McQueen bag comes in several colours. but these two colours are the ones that really caught my eye. The first thing i noticed about this clutch, is obviously its quirky shape. McQueen shaped it so that the clutch would fit your hands and fingers as you carried it though looking completely rectangular when held. I LOVE this idea of his, and i find the black and gold version and the fushia version just mind boggling.

This next bag is by Topshop. Most of you may have already noticed this bag sold at the stores here in Malaysia. I predict that more than half have taken a second look at this bag too. I spent at least half an hour mourning over this bag as my mom would not let me get it as i am currently banned from shopping. as usual. I just love the Union Jack on the bag. its cute.

Now the next few clutches are pretty formal looking, however i beg to differ as i think these clutches can be worn casually if paired up with the right clothing.

I LOVE this apple sling/clutch. Especially because it's gold in colour. This bag can only be purchased in London, in Temperley London though i am pretty sure it can be purchased online too. I just imagined this bag being worn with a White or cream t shirt and a grey or dark blue high waisted skirt with some flats or even ankle boots for a casual look. Honestly, this bag is so unique that its practically an outfit all on its own. It doesnt need much to make the outfit look presentable. In simpler words, ZOMG. :)

Now this next bag, is more of a matter of taste, as people of the younger generation who do not really appreciate fashion, especially the old styles of the 60's and such, would not appreciate nor understand why a teenager would want to wear such an elderly looking bag. But as i keep telling my mom, for you, its out of date, for us, its VINTAGE.

This bag has this somewhat Chanel feeling to it. That i adore. And i love that its actually made of translucent material and the bunched up look makes it opaque. The chained sling reminds me of Chanel so much. This is probably more towards a dinner bag as all it can contain is a phone, some cash and maybe lipgloss and eyeliner. haha. This bag is by Maddalena Marconi.

This petal-emblished bag by Eruca really caught my eye. As i'm really into golds, blacks and natural colours recently. i think this bag is perfect for summers. in other words, it works all year round for those in Malaysia. I imagined this dress being worn with a grey top and a statement necklace, with a light brown thick waisted belt, and a layered ruffled skirt. preferably neutral in colour. For a dash of colour, the skirt could also be replaced with a lantern skirt or ruffled skirt in fushia or lilac/purple.

I love how this egg/oval shaped clutch reminds me of the egg in the Harry Potter movie. It totally looks like the goblet of fire. The one where it can only be opened underwater, so that you can hear the mermaid singing instead of opening it out of water and hearing screaming. I am going way off topic here but it doesnt really matter. I acutally really love this clutch. and i have no idea what it is made of. But i think it would look gorgeous with a neutral coloured outfit as this clutch is a statement clutch.

This clutch, is actually a vintage clutch and cannot be bought in Malaysia. But i just thought it was gorgeous as eventhough it is clearly a statement clutch, it would be worn with an outfit of any colour, from black and white to bright yellow and it would still blend with the outfit effortlessly. I really think that everyone should own a clutch like this. It doesnt need to be vintage like so. It could simply have swarovski crystals, beads ( A cheaper beaded version of this clutch can be found in Forever 21), or even mirrors. I actually have a bag with small small mirrors sewed onto them. and i think it looks great.

This last clutch is a clutch by Bags at Boden. and it comes in several colours, like black brown, fushia but it was this bright turqoise green that really caught my eye.

I KNOW I HAVEN'T UPDATED FOR A REALLY REALLY LONG TIME.

and i wish to apologise for doing so. Last month, in the midst of my mid-sem exams, i went to canada. I'm sure you know Puan Azura. and i FINALLY FOUND A GOOD WAY OF WEARING A FANNY PACK! oh my god. i know right?

though this will only work when you're wearing a ski jacket that supplies no shape to your body whatsoever and if you're going skiing in which case, a handbag will not suffice, and you don't want to carry a backpack.

so what i saw at least 3 women do, is that they would wear their shapeless ski jackets,so what this woman did, was that she wore the fanny pack, backwards, so the bit that you use to clip at your back is now at the front LIKE A BELT! adding a clinched waist and therefore adding shape to your body. its genius!

PLUS, i think this Gucci Fanny Pack is gorgeous. hahahhaa. i never thought i'd ever say those words.

i didn't buy much in canada this time around, as i hardly had any time to go around in Vancouver. i bought a very Blair Waldorf looking sweater. its dark blue with black trimmings and gold buttons from H&M. very posh if i do say so myself. I also bought myself an Edward Cullen t-shirt just cause i thought it would be funny. and i bought myself a beige sling bag from Chanel.

It's been so hot lately. and i would know because of Games Carnival and MSSKL, im at least 200 shades darker than i was before. so my next post will be all about sundresses. it'll be mostly photos but i'll make up for all the photos with a super long update on Games Carnival afterwards.

HELLO AGAIN. for the second time today. so today, i went out to Sunway Pyramid so we could sit down and have lunch while i studied Chemistry. my parents decided that a different studying environment would do me justice. so alas, i agreed. and I actually managed to do 2 chapters in an hour which i found astounding. im starting to study again at 6. and i am going to do my workbook and hopefully read Mr Sheats photocopied notes by tonight. Tomorrow i will be going to Farah's house so discuss Sejarah and Chemistry. I AM SO EXCITED.

so what i wore to Sunway Pyramid:

My bright red sweater was from Topshop. it's a long cardigan and it added a splash of colour to my outfit.

note: When wearing colours such as Black and White *in which case my whole outfit was black and white* a eyepopping colour or print would complete the outfit. like a bright red sweater, a yellow bag, or even a bright pink belt. This is to ensure that you do not look to plain yet still maintaining your somewhat casual look without looking as if you put too much on. As Coco Chanel once said, "When you are ready to go out and you feel that you are perfectly dressed, remove one accesory or item of clothing". Today, i removed the black bow that i had placed around my head and thought that i looked more casual without it.
My black huge bag from Tods. I was studying. so that is why i needed such a big bag.

I also wore band-rings. Usually, i would wear a LOUD ring. like my stud rings that are twice the size of my finger itself. But since i was only out wiht my family and family friends, i decided to maintain a somewhat casual and low key outfit so i wore 2 band rings, one from Athens and another from Claire's in Canada.

And lastly i wore a multi-pendant necklace from Forever 21. that looks something like this. with many layers and sizes. (:

What i really wanted to talk about was what i saw when i went into the bathroom. So when my mother needed to use the bathroom, i accompanied her and just sat my Tod's bag on the counter to take out my ipod touch. and i looked at this one girl who just entered the bathroom. her shirt was okay, she was wearing a normal yellow collared shirt. Her shorts were Daisy Duke denim shorts which tend to look CHEAP, but i still thought it was fine. but it was what she was wearing on her feet that totally appauled me. She was wearing BOOTS. no not those heeled ankle boots which i LOVE, and i know some malaysians tend to FORGET that we live in a warm climate and wear those black leather knee high boots that are already disgustingly painful enough to see. but this girl was wearing Suede, Brown, Cowboy boots with frills. I just wonder what on earth possesed her to buy such horrid looking boots especially when we live in malaysia. A good pair of converses, flats or even some Havaianas would look okay enough.

so note:

For the love of FASHION, please refrain yourself from buying brown suede cowboy boots and wearing them in malaysia. infact, refrain yourself from buying them at all.

personally, i think ankle boots can and should be worn in Malaysia but not so much during the day and more for evening usage. They're cute and downright gorgeous.

A must buy if your pockets are deep enough. if you know what i mean. ;)

No one can ever say no to the power of Jimmy Choo's shoes. *coughiowntheseinbeigecough*.
These are Jimmy Choo's Erika Suede shoes. I usually wear these boots when i go to colder places cause unlike the Christian Laboutin shoes, these are a little thicker and provide warmth, and they are made out of suede. So i guess you can wear these in Malaysia but they have to be paired up with clothes that are not so busy like simple black or blue denim skinny jeans or a simple dress. but overall, i love these shoes and not only because i own them. (:

The reason i titled this blog as "Sirens" is because of the fact that i saw a really horrid looking outfit and it was necessary to call the fashion police. I'M SO SERIOUS YOU WOULDN'T BE LAUGHING AT THE END OF MY EXPLANATION. so obviously, i wasn't THAT mean and i didn't take a picture of the woman wearing the horrendous outfit though right now i really regret and i wish i did. so Puan Azura, its up to you to IMAGINE it and promise me you'd never wear it. (:

p.s I was in Bangsar Village waiting for my dad when this happened with my mom who also went "WHAT ON EARTH IS THAT WOMAN WEARING?" haha.

now first of all, i'd like to inform you that it was a slightly elderly person wearing this outfit.

so it started off with a cap-sleeved pink and white striped top. that was wayyy to big on her.

then, over that she wore a BRIGHT YELLOW vest with iron-on patches on it. FIRST OF ALL, IRON-ON PATCHES SHOULD NOT EXIST ANYMORE. ergh.
imagine this but in a horrid MacDonald's type yellow.

next, she wore those old styled jeans. better known as MOM JEANS. you know, the ones that are in a boring shade of blue, with no shape whatsoever? and it ended at her ankles. which is a ~~big~~ HUGE no-no. especially for asians as they make us look shorter than we really are. and we obviously could use all the height we can get. well i do. :)

and she eneded it with pink trainers.

she also sported a FANNY PACK. for those who don't know what a Fanny Pack is, its those old styled belt-bag combinations. you know, a bag, that can be straped around your waist. personally, i think women....even men should NEVER EVER BUY A FANNY PACK. women should indulge themselves in the various forms of handbags already created specifically for women. We have large, medium and small sized handbags, we have handbags with shoulder straps, the ones that can be carried along your elbow, or in your hand. We also have clutches for a slightly more elegant look and sling bags incase you don't want anything to hold while walking or working. but Never Ever buy a fanny pack. if you own one, and you're reading this right now, i suggest that you throw away the fanny pack and buy yourself a nice bag.

We have been doing World Maths Day from 8a.m all the way to 8p.m. and i am EXHAUSTED! i can't even begin to explain how exhausted i really am. I almost feel braindead due to the vast amount of maths i just did throughout the day. ouch.

oh my god. so while i was playing today, i went against this one guy from Hong Kong and just so you know. we all have 1 minute. as in 60 seconds to answer questions and there must've been a glitch as this guy could answer 209 questions in a minute. thats impossible.

i even screen-shot in cause i couldn't believe it myself. so here itt is guys. Team Hong Kong. i have no idea what mojo you use but wow. 209 questions. hats off to you.

we had some major funny quotes among farah, ron and i that caused us all to lay among the floor in the school corridor in a dog pile, just laughing hysterically.

So it started with Ronald singing It's Not Over by Daughtry. then he was all "It is over right?" referring to the continuous maths we had been forced to do. then farah and i were talking about how it'd be hysterically not funny if it WASN'T over and we'd get a call from Mr Kumar that night going

Only some who are ignorant due to the fact that they cannot embrace the world of shopping that is now looked down upon because of today's representation of shopaholics that are seen as spoilt, rich, and shallow.

not that there's anything wrong with that. HAHA.

i think that i have written in a previous post that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BE FILTHY RICH to be fashionable. Fashion is not associated with money. and therefore i object when someone says

"Oh, i can't afford fashion".

worst excuse for lazy people who don't have the decency to dress appropriately and nicely. i "pft" upon you.

so back to my blogpost, as you can tell by the title, Fen wanted me to talk about PLAID. plaid was made famous by the scottish people and somehow someway it became the HUGEST trend sometime 2 years ago by shops such as Topshop, Warehouse, Miss Selfridge, Forever 21, Abercrombie, and lots more. honestly. even i own many many plaid peices myself. I LOVE IT. :D they automatically look cute on thier own though could go horribly horribly wrong when worn wrongly.

first, i present to you, the history of plaid. :P

Plaid (pronounced /ˈplad/) is a Scots language word meaning blanket, usually referring to patterned woollen cloth. It is unclear if the Gaelic word Plaide came first.

A plaid or full plaid is a pleated cloth worn with the modern kilt, made from the same tartan and worn cast over the shoulder and fastened at the front.

The belted plaid or great kilt is an earlier form of the kilt.

A plaid rug is a large thick woolen twill cloth, often tartan, used as a travel rug or as a blanket.

"Plaid" is also American English for tartan.

nowdays, plaid comes in almost EVERY form of clothing.

The most common form of plaid is probably the Plaid Shirt. now at first, people refused to embrace plaid as they usually said it resembled a picnic mat or a tablecloth. but as you can see, this fashion trend has spread itself so far and so wide that the people that once turned down the idea of wearing plaid are indeed the ones, craziest about it. (: I admit to having at least 3 plaid shirts. mostly from Topshop and Miss Selfridge.

this shirt is from Hollister and it is very similar to one that i own except that mine is blue and white. i also own a short sleeved plaid shirt in red and black from Topshop. However, i think that plaid shirts look best long sleeved and folded to the elbow. This look goes best with skinny jeans.

btw. i LOVE her white Balenciaga bag. yes i know. i can tell. :P cause i own that bag in red, black and brown. haha.

Note: This trend SHOULD NOT be worn with other coloured/pattered plaid tops as this will end up looking like chaos unless you're Agyness Deyn.

next, the plaid tanks.

this look will go best with blue denim skinnies. not those black or coloured ones. just good old blue skinny jeans. make sure the denim isnt too light as this top is already light enough as it is. or opt for White skinnies if you choose to be bold. a simply sling bag would look better than a large carry bag. as this look is fairly relaxed.

i LOVE this plaid bow tank from Topshop. now this would look good with almost any colour of skinnies. i prefer skinnies with plaid as plaid is usually done slightly baggy. you can hardly ever find a tight fitting plaid top. or at least one that looks good. so skinnies it is. skirts will also make you look very slumpy. unless you wear a high waisted tight skirt. no flary ones. so yes. this top would even look good with BRIGHT BRIGHT skinny jeans. that i am well known for. haha. like bright yellow, green, royal blue, red, or even purple skinnies would look good. though you could always opt for black or orignal denim blue jeans. :D

i know most of us do go to cold places, but i've come to realize that scarves arent only for cold places cause most middle street shops make lighter in other words, thinner scarves for spring that could be used in Malaysia. and i admit. i have TONS of thin scarves. some with skulls, stripes and obviously PLAID. i actually found the exact scarf i have.

this is from Forever 21. it also comes in a few other colours but i think that the black and white one looked the best on tshirts. oh yes. scarves on tshirts. not on shirts unless you wanna just drape it over your neck instead of tying it up like it is tied in the picture. it can even be draped over dresses or as a cover up. you gotta love the plaid scarf.

now the next item of clothing, i don't necessarily see as a fashion faux pas. there is hardly ever a time when an item of clothing is the faux pas. it depends if the person wearing it looks good in it or pulls it off. so next is the plaid pants.

i know most of you are like OH NO. but seriously. imagine this with a grey with slightly blueish band tee. for e.g the beatles or jimi hendrix with some black flats and a chanel chain bag, in black of course. BEAUTIFUL. s0 it really depends what you pair it up with.

now two of my favourite plaid clothing. THE SKIRT AND THE DRESS!

i LALALALOVE this skirt. the whole school looking plaid skirt with black tights with that grey top you see there. i think the grey top should be sleeveless and with minor ruffles for optimum beauty. i think the plaid skirt was MADE to be worn with tights though some may prefer without. especially the malaysians, we all know its boiling in this country. so it can be worn with shirts, flowy tops, tee shirts even! anything. i love the plaid skirt. the normal plaid skirt, the red, green and dark blue one also has the same principles so EXPLORE.

and lastly. my favouritest of the favourites.

the plaid dress. now the dress worn in this picture is PERFECTLY done. of course this whole outfit is courtesy of Topshop. i love the mixture of the blue plaid dress with the black mesh underneath, leg warmers with something that looks like grey pumps or even ankle boots! i love ankle boots too. haha. maybe that'll be the next post. now that waist belt is so beautiful as it is a studded waist belt. you know those punk rockers who made studded belts famous and therefore also avoided, well topshop has created a wide clinch waist belt with black and silver studs. i really love it. as it gives you this whole glamorous look to the slightly rock inspired outfit. and the leather jacket so completes the outfit. now for malaysians who prefer not to wear a leather jacket as you may be shun upon, the leather jacket can be replaced by a nice black tailored jacket, or even a black long or mid cardigan would do you justice. the best thing about this outfit, minimal accesories. get a silver clutch and you're ready to go. (:

SWIMMING GALA 09!

Swimming Gala was a pretty evenful day for me. Despite the fact that i had to wake up in the wee hours of the morning, around 6 or so. i still remained excited and optimistic throughout the day. I was a little upset as i was supposed to sleep at Farah's house the night before. But because of minor changes, i ended up sleeping at my own house anyway. So, i woke up groggily at 6 in the morning and put on my necessary clothes for swimming gala. but of course, i came in somewhat nice clothes. haha. pft. however, jeans weren't allowed and neither were skirts that totally ruined the two best outfit ideas i had for the day.

I was thinking of wearing my Helang shirt with a:

knee length black skirt

OR

black skinny jeans

but it turns out that neither skirts not jeans were allowed. so instead i had to opt for something that resembled a skirt. i ended up wearing one of those flowy dance knee length pants

imagine this, but in black and ending around the knees.

so yes, i was kindda disapointed by the strict clothing rules. i guess they did not want anyone looking obscene or too unofficial at the swimming gala. but still? knee length skirts? whatever you say then.

i also wore my outfit with

my vintage black patent and gold ferragamo sling.

 and my favourite black patent buckled mary jane flats. 

note: these aren't my actual shoes but i could not find one that resembled mine.

i also wore them with bright yellow round huge earrings and black sunglasses.

so i basically spent the rest of the day, eating. The candy floss was SO good. and i cheered crazily for my house alongside with Natalie, our lady captain, as well as my fellow eagles. :P

i also got to meet my best friends, Annatasha "Tash" Saifol and Jade "Jadey" Lim whom i haven't seen in a really long time. well i may be exaggerating. haha. but with best friends, a day feels like a month, and a week is way too long to handle.
wow this has been a really long post and i'm starting to get tired. haha. i had just come back from my handball training and it went exceptionally well today. although a certain person in Form 3, not saying names, decided to charge at my at full speed and ram me down. instead she ended up on the floor and i was still standing for some odd reason. however, im pretty sure my hand took the impact, as my finger as well as my nail is starting to turn purplish.

As some of you may know, around 2 weeks ago, my mother left on a trip to London and Paris with a few of her closest friends. Sadly, i was not invited to come along as i had school those two weeks she was there. Now, i would simply like to state a characteristic that my mother posseses, as well as 90% of the women in my family. we are die hard shopaholics. we literally shop till we drop. a couple of years back, an aunt passed out from outshopping and lack of eating. so my mother went to Paris and London with one bag. and she came back with 3. but that isn't the end of the story. my mother had informed us that there were another 2 bags!! that she was having sent by a plane. so technically, she had shopped 4 bags full of clothing! now when she first came back, i was already amazed at the amount of things she had brought back for me. She had brought back some very pretty headbands. those at school would know that i have trademark headbands that i wear to school everyday. besides that, she had also bought me some bags, such as:

a fluorescent Louis Vuitton bag.

a beige Celine clutch

a Chanel beige bag

and 4 clutches. in colours, red, even redder,royal blue and bronze.

the rest, i am not really sure as to what are in those 2 bags that had just arrived this morning, but i'll be sure to find out.

Rihanna GOT CANCELLED. after i planned what to wear it still GOT CANCELLED. i'm not really sure as to what really happened to her as there are too many rumours circulating about her. but what i am sure about is that she got badly hurt in a fight between her and her boyfriend Chris Brown. She substained injuries such a broken nose, a black eye, split lips and even bite marks! Although i do not know what is the cause of the fight but all that i know is that no guy should ever hurt a girl. especially till the point where she had to be hospitalized! next post will all be about Rihanna's awesome fashion sense. :D

Sorry Puan Azura as i have not been updating my blog. As you've noticed, i've been sick with high fever, a cold, a cough and a probably mild case of tonsilitis. I can't really talk about fashion do's and don'ts of other people as i've been cooped up alone in my room for the past week. However, this may sound ridiculous, but how about fashionable home clothes? Clothes that you won't feel embarrassed about when a friend stops by.

Fashion friendly home clothes.
1. The most important would be:

BOXERS!

Even a girl should learn to sleep in them as they're really comfortable and airy for hot nights. We live in Malaysia, not the United Kingdom.

2. Next, the tank top!

3. I think everyone should own atleast a pair of sweats.

They're really nice to sleep in on colder nights, you could use them to dance, or do to grocery shopping with a pair of slippers when you're not feeling your best or if you're not out to look great and they're also really handy in colder countries. I go to canada ALOT.and sweats are really handy and nice tucked into uggs or home booties which is coming up soon. (:

4. TRACKSUITS!

cute and they're especially cute if you've got a little more cha-ching. in other words, money.

Juicy Couture makes the nicest tracksuits. hopefully i'll get a picture of one of them up soon. (:

5. Band Tees!

now personally, i find band tees the best investment EVER. i am wearing one right now, as we speak. (type). I am currently wearing one from Fall Out Boy which i purchased in Canada a couple of years ago.

Why they're beyond awesome:
1. They aren't so expensive
2. They show other people what kind of music you're into.
3. You get to support your favourite bands
4. You can wear them anywhere! To sleep, at home, even out!. A band tee tucked into a high waisted pencil skirt with black tights and heels would look almost formal in this glamourous rocker kindda way. In simpler words, i love band tees and i practically collect them.

6. THE BEST FASHION AT HOME ESSENTIAL

This is the last but definitely not the least. I'm not sure if anyone in malaysia would actually require one but i have a couple due to my frequent travelling. SHOESOCKS! they are the best creations ever. it is basically a sock with a sole so that it can be used to walk around outdoors without feeling completely gross.

These white booties can be purchased in Topshop and it also comes in grey.

And that's it. I hope i get on my bootie-covered feet soon enough. (:

Despite being sick, i had to go to Bangsar to pick my laptop back up from the shop, as i had to update the software. So basically, my laptop is awesome right now. so while i was in Bangsar, i did what i usually do, i look at fashion do's and dont's. Personally, i don't think rich equals to being fashionable. someone who has a moderate amount of money can be still be fashionable. sometimes people with alot of money tend to over do their clothes. they think as long as its Chanel or Dior it goes. WRONG. and sometimes, usually teenagers wear whats 'in' or what is cool for the moment. and i look down upon such things. we are teenagers. we aren't supposed to follow the trends, we're supposed to make them. following trends are for the older women, those 'datin's who wear whats in or whats expensive. ergh.

Reminder: Teenagers DO NOT follow trends. We set them.

So, back to my story. i saw many outfits that i really liked and some that were horrendous and just screamed "I HAVE MONEY AND NO STYLE" . :D

While Daddy and i were having a drink in Starbucks, we saw this one lady going up the escalator in a horrid looking dark green sundress. and I was like "OH MY GOD" and my dad obviously read my mind and he asked me why that woman was wearing her pyjamas to the mall. and worst still, it was touching the floor and she was wearing SNEAKERS! it was all wrong. haha. if you want to wear a long dress, it would be better if it didnt drag across the floor. First of all, this is Malaysia and you never know exactly what you're dragging that lovely dress of yours across. Second, we are asians. We aren't exactly the tallest people on the planet. A dress that lifts off the ground would give us more height. And trust me, i know all about adding height. ahem. haha. A dress that stops around the ankles would be perfect. Third, the colour was fine, but it was the way her dress fit around her that made it look slightly "trashy", literally. A dress that is tighter around the bodice or the waist would make your figure look nicer especially if its a long dress. Fourth, sneakers do NOT go with that dress unless you opt for white converses or keds. Slippers e.g. Havaianas, sandals e.g. Ipanema and even gladiator sandals would look WAAAYY better with that sort of dress.

I also saw something that i REALLY loved. While i was at starbucks, this around 40 year old woman came in. and she was REALLY in style while not trying to hard and i really appreciated that. i mean, we were in bangsar, and she was probably just grocery shopping so she obviously wasnt trying to look her best. yet she was really fashionable. she was wearing a plain white t shirt. ( which is fashionable all on its own), some cute white wedges, a big black bag, and jeans. but it was her jeans that really caught my eye. The way she wore them. simple and easy yet PURE GENIUS. i once saw Katie Holmes in something like that and it just hit me.

I officially love folded to the ankle man jeans. It is so cute and effortless. So if you ever buy a pair of jeans of the wrong size, don't send it back or send it for re-tailoring. just fold them to your ankle, and VOILA! it's a fashion trend. :D It looks great with flats, and sandals like Katie Holmes, and it even looked good with heels, example by the woman i saw today, and im guessing it'll look good with a pair of Keds or Converses.

Next outfit i saw. was..indescribable. for those larger woman out there. PLEASE DO NOT WEAR TIGHT CLOTHING. i beg of you. Some people call it love handles, i call it muffin top. but this woman i saw was more like, hippo in a can. so...

Note : Dress according to your body.

Last outfit, is a question of taste, but i really liked it. Graphic tee tucked into a high waisted pencil skirt. I LOVE.

Something like this but the t shirt wasn't plain and more graphic-ish. Think Topshop tees.
and last but not least, there was this huge argument about a high waisted skirt that Misha Barton once wore. and I think the people who disliked the outfit were people of the erm. older generation. Frankly, i think she pulls it off. not only is she super tall but she is also young. and the newer generation is all about starting new fashion statements. And i really LOVE her skirt. Red is the new black.

So today, right after my cheerleading tryouts, i had to rush to tuition along with many fellow classmates of mine. A few of us were forced to be stuffed in Mei Jing's car and thank god the air conditioner was on as a "few people" had not taken their bath after a fierce game of football. haha.
fortunately, i sat next to farah, and later on sat next to Audrey ong in the car. while i was in the car, i thought back about where i had put my phone. i remember taking it out of my Liverpool bag and placing it on the bench in the toilet and yet the phone was no where in my hands. thats when i started to panic. i seriously thought i had lost my phone. during that time of chaos, i suddenly thought of what phone i would want to get if i really did lose my phone. and thats when it hit me.

at that precise moment, i really really wanted the LG, PRADA phone.
it has a really cool touch screen, it has those slide into keyboard panels and i totally love PRADA!
honestly i don't care what this phone does, i just want it. And i hear its pretty decently priced :D

to me, this phone is a MUST-BUY. to all those fashion crazy people out there. Blackberries are for work! Iphones are all talk and no..well. nothing actually.

feel free to cbox me the pros and cons to this phone. and does anyone know if it stores music, and if it accepts wifi?

oh and in the end, i didn't lose my phone.

second possstttt! (: wait am i even allowed to write it like that? nevermind then. so as some of you know, every year i go to canada. and every year i go absolutely crazy at the boxing day sales. now obviously i did not take pictures of everything i bought so here are pictures of the things i got. some of them are pretty accurate and some are the real thing.

Already Bought:

2. Replacement Black Uggs.

i know people really dislike uggs but you have to admit that they're REALLY comfy. and obviously, i only wear them in Vancouver. i don't even wear them in Whistler cause they don't go too well with the snow. and they also look super good when worn with sweats.

4. New Black Boots from The North Face.

5. A white knitted top from Zara.

That would be the one i wore last night to Wen Lin's farewell party. you may see it once the facebook photos are up.

To everyone reading this right now, this happens to be my second blog. This blog happens to be part of my academic school work. So you may realize a change in the way i blog as my english in the posts will have to be correct, suitable for all ages, and of course proper.

First of all, i will not be talking about my personal life as my English teacher Puan Azura said that i can talk about whatever i like in this blog. So, i will be talking about Fashion. Ever since i was a little girl, i wanted to be a fashion designer but because of a lecture from my dad and years of discourage, i will now be planning to have a degree in Law. but after the law degree, i may go back to my roots since i have had a back up plan incase things in the fashion world does not work out for me.

I will not only talk about what to wear, but also what NOT to wear, common mistakes, to-buys, already-bought and etc.
